KCU Education Runs in the Family

Csere Family

Dr. Robert Csere, with his family, was surprised and excited when his two daughters decided to attend KCU. His future gift will help support future KCU students.

KCU is a family affair for two generations of the Csere family. Dr. Robert Csere, the patriarch, never expected his daughters, Anne and Laura, to follow in his footsteps. But after college, both young women felt that something was missing. They ended up applying to KCU simultaneously and graduated together.

All three doctors live in Tampa now. Anne is a neurologist, Laura is a psychiatrist and Robert is a retired pathologist.

"KCU really focused on training us," Dr. Csere says.

He remembers being surprised during his residency that students from other schools weren't as knowledgeable about basic aspects of medicine. That foundation proved invaluable as Dr. Csere brought his skills to the Navy, several universities and a large practice in Florida.

"Without KCU, I would have nothing," Dr. Csere asserts.

He recently recognized KCU's impact by making a gift in his will in support of the University's endowment.

"By generating income, the endowment helps stabilize the University's finances," he explains. "That means more and better facilities, scholarships, research and faculty."

Dr. Csere has made different types of gifts over the years because the University makes it easy to give back. It's a meaningful way to honor a place that's so important to his family.

"You should support the places that supported you early on," he says. "I spent some of the best years of my life there."
